Rules
Padel is commonly a doubles game, however single courts are also available. The scoring system is the same as tennis with 3 sets of 6 games. Winning 2 of the 3 sets means winning the game.
Points awarded are 15, 30, 40 and game, unless the two teams are tied on 40, which is a deuce and an extra point must be won to win a game.
The match begins with an underarm serve diagonally across into the opponents court, just like tennis.
The server has to let the ball bounce before hitting it into the opposing service box, and must hit it at or below waist level.
If the ball bounces in the service box and hits the side or back wall, it is allowed and must be played by the opposing player.
If the ball lands in the service box or bounces off the net and hits the fencing, it is considered a fault.
The lines are considered in play during the initial serve.
Otherwise, they are not important in determining the outcome of each point won.
Players are allowed to play a ball off any of the walls on their own side of the court.
You lose the point if The ball bounces twice on your side of the court.
If the ball hits you or your teammate while in play, you lose the point.
If the ball strikes the fencing or posts before going over the net or landing on the opponent's court you also lose the point.
You also lose the point if the ball hits the fence or walls before landing in the opponent's side of the court.
