Groundworks are required for outdoor courts. There are typically 3 approaches.
Option 1:
This court will be placed on grass/earth, which requires full excavation, a concrete ring beam, upon which the Court is installed for stability and the internal court surface is built upon stone and asphalt, having appropriate drainage added through pipework to a soakaway.
Option 2:
On top of an existing tennis Court. Depending on the quality of the existing surface, some modifications are made, along with the concrete ring beam.
Option 3:
On top of an existing Tennis Court, using our steel anchor system to hold the Court in place. A budget for full groundworks should be around £30,000 per Court Over an existing Court with a concrete ring beam should be around £20,000 per Court Our steel anchor system is around £6,000 per Court.
-
Full drainage is always the optimum solution, ensuring longer footfall opportunities, but is more costly.
On top of existing Courts works well as long as you have some modifications for drainage added, in the form of Ultiporous asphalt, and a concrete ring beam for stability.
Our steel anchor system works really well when natural drainage is evident, as well as when costs need to be kept low. Often this in best in private sites or for those wishing a quick solution without the added cost of groundworks.

Once you have been approved planning permission, it takes typically 1-2 months to ship and supply a Court. We provide full project management, so that our installation teams are ready on site to install when the court arrives. Once arrived on site and loaded into position by our expert teams, one court can be assembled in 2-3 day by the team.
-
This depends on the work required, and we actively encourage all of our clients to aim for completed groundworks before court installation can begin.
-
Most sites will require planning permission or change of use permission. Planning normally takes between 10-12 weeks. Once planning is approved, groundworks can start. Finally Courts are installed. Ideally, from planning application to installation is no more that 6 months in duration.
